NYE Adventure (Part 3)

Here I am!!...did you miss me?!...i hope so!!...haha!...anyway…im back with the final portion of my new year’s eve adventure…and its finally time to actually talk about NYE!!...haha!!...this one is a little bit longer than the others…you’ve been warned!!...haha!!

Like I said last time, I had to go to work on Monday…it was brutal…im not even going to pretend like it wasn’t…I stayed in contact with the girls throughout the day…little sis got home from work around 11 which happened to be when the other girls were waking up…we all decided that we wanted to do vip again…we didn’t want to go overboard so we thought bronze would be fine…the only problem was I wasn’t sure if I would get out of work early enough to make it to the vip in time…we all had our fingers crossed…while I was working the girls worked on signs for “this is us” and “trouble is” because we wanted them to sing those songs at the sound check…the girls left at some point in the early afternoon to make their way to PA but little sis waited for me…I told her not to but she did anyway…which turned out to be a good thing…I did get out of work early but when I left I knew I would be cutting it close…so little sis brought me clothes to change into and we left right from the train station when she picked me up…

The drive there was kinda stressful…we really didn’t know if we were gonna make it or not…we were def counting on backstreet time to work in our favor…oh just a quick fun fact about the car ride…when little sis handed me the jeans she brought for me to change into I said “omg little sis this is the same outfit I wore the first time we met big time rush!!”…she looked at me and said “youre kidding right because this is the same outfit I was wearing the first time we met them”…haha!!!...how funny is that?!?...okay back to the story…as we were getting closer I stayed almost in constant contact with kentucky girl…we were about 5 mins away when she said that justin just got there…

Little sis parked the car and the two of us pretty much ran from the parking garage into the casino…after we went past security we followed the signs to the venue…we thought we found it but no one was there for vip so we started to freak out a little bit…turns out the vip line was inside the bar/lounge place…and we couldn’t just go in because they had to check ids first…I wasn’t sure if they were gonna let us in or not but then Kentucky girl found someone who worked there to help us out…so thank you Kentucky girl!!...when we got in mostly everyone was checked in and justin seemed to be running around like crazy…so we just waited for him to calm down so we could buy our vips…

We were able to buy our bronze vips and then I bet you cant guess what happened next…that’s right…more waiting!!!...haha!!...we were standing in line just chit chatting…we started talking to the girl standing behind us a little bit…and before we really said anything to her I noticed her bracelet…I practically jumped at her while pointing at the bracelet and said “is that a big time rush bracelet?!?”…she was all kinds of excited that we knew who btr was…haha!...it was so much fun talking to her about our boys…she was a nick/carlos girl just like the cruiser so they bonded…haha!!…we kept talking about both bsb and btr…then somehow dustin came up…she didn’t know who he was so the Canadian was all excited and was like “oh! hes my boyfriend!!!”…the girl was like “okay…you go girl!”…haha!…the whole thing was so funny…
Some more time passed and the 5 of us ended up sitting on the floor playing taboo…we changed the rules a little to make it so we can only use boyband related clues…it was a lot of fun…its amazing how easy it is to relate just about anything to the boybands we love…this really helped pass the time because before we knew it they were letting us in…since we had bronze we were last…but that’s okay…

It was so weird that the backstreet boys were already on stage when we were walking in…they even started singing (“I still”) before everyone was at their seats…pretty much everyone was sitting down but I did not allow my girls to do such a thing…so when we got to our seats we all remained standing…we were probably 8 rows back or so…im not sure…I didn’t really count…when “I still” was done they asked which song we want to hear next…so we all held up our “trouble is” signs…so they sang that…yay!!...but it was with the help of google…when the song started they were like howie this is you…and he has like “no its not me”…it was totally him…haha!!...it always so much fun to watch when things like that happen…good thing brian was there cause he seems to always remember all the words…

Or so we thought…our next request was “this is us”…so we held up our signs and nick was like “they all want to hear the scissors!…look! the scissors! the scissors! the scissors! the scissors! the scissors!”…as he said it he pointed to each one of our signs…it was pretty funny…he was all excited to sing it…but then the music started and weird world was playing…so they stopped it…then this is us started and they thought it was the wrong song again…haha!…so they made the sound guy stop it….but then the realized it was right so they started it over…this time all four of them gathered around nicks phone to read the words (im beginning to think that nick has bsb lyrics bookmarked on his phone!...haha!)…I cant believe even brian forgot…its all so funny!!...(if you want to see videos of this just hop on over to youtube and check it out)

After the singing portion it was time for questions…the cruiser was lucky enough to ask nick a question…she asked who is responsible for backstreet time…and nick’s grand answer was just pointing his finger at aj…aj admitted that it was his fault today but then he told the cruiser that he would give her an extra hug at meet and greet time…(too bad we only had bronze and had to leave before the m&g)…a couple more questions were asked after that and then it was brians turn for a question…I raised my hand…waved it around a little…ya know made a big deal…so justin came over and handed me the mic…yesss!!! (yes I actually said yessss…haha!)…first I told them that I was the reigning bsb cruise door dec champion…so they clapped for me…can we just pause for a second and take that in…the backstreet boys clapped for me…that is insane!!...okay back to my question…I asked them if there was a boyband softball league who could they beat…they talked about it for a while but the short answer is brian said they could beat all of them at anything…I agree!!!...I thought I had a pretty original question…right?!...it was fun…

Then sadly our vip experience had to come to an end…sure it would have been great to get another picture with them but its okay that we didn’t…we had a really great time even without that…cause lets be honest…we totally ran the show…I mean we picked 2 out of 3 songs AND we asked 2 out of 4 questions…considering how many people were in there, that’s really awesome…oh and little james was sitting behind us the whole time…again I will say he is so freaking cute!!!

We ended up with a lot of time to kill before the concert started…so we went to the food court to get something to eat…we sat there for a while chit chatting away…then we started to stroll around…we ran into video girl so we talked to her for a while…then we heard that they were giving out seat upgrades...so we went to find where they were doing this...I was able to trade in my row 23 seats for row 17...not a huge difference but ill take it!...5 rows is 5 rows!!...the cruiser and kentucky girl were already in row 17 so they didn't need to upgrade...and the Canadian was in row 3 so she definitely didn’t need to exchange her ticket!...haha!!...

There was STILL lots of time before the show so we found a quiet place to sit down close to where the upgrade table was…and we continued our game of boyband taboo…the best part was when it was little sis’ turn…she said something like “at mixtape we went to the thing with the backstreet boys outside…bsbbq”…so I said “barbeque!!”…so she goes “yeah, but what does the B stand for?”…I said “bar???”…she said no…then some said barbeque?...so she was like “yeah! Barbeque! That’s it!!”…I was like “omg little sis! I just said that!!!”…and to that she said “oh!”…haha!!...we were all dying!!...so freaking funny!!!

after about an hour the hotel security told us we couldn’t sit there anymore…so we got up and collected all of our stuff…with nothing else left to do we planned a meeting spot for after the show and we figured we might as well go into the concert…it should have been a simple task…the concert was 21+ so we had to show our ids to get in…one by one we showed our licenses but then the security guy stopped the canadian…he said that a Canadian license isn’t good enough and she needed to show her passport…she didn’t have her passport…the guy was giving her a really hard time…it was awful…we were all telling the guy that we were already in there and shes been in and out of the casino all night and no one ever said anything about needing a passport…she was about to cry…and I don’t blame her!!...we got a final plea into the security guy and it must have worked because the guy finally let her in…who knew it would be so difficult and traumatizing to get into a backstreet boys concert…=/

as soon as we were all in we dispersed to our seats…when little sis and I got to our seats there was no one around us…there was a dj playing lots of fun music so we danced a little bit…we were kinda in our own world having a grand old time…the seats stared filling in but our whole row was empty…so kentucky girl and the cruiser ended up coming over to our side and sitting next to us for the show!!

the concert!!!!...ahhhh!!!....it was so so so good!!....it was similar to the show the night before but there were some differences…they took out the solos…which I was totally bummed about…I really wanted to see howie sing 100 again!…ugh!...oh well…even without the solos I was screaming and singing and dancing and having soooo much fun…being at a backstreet boys concert is probably my number one happiest place on earth!!!
Toward the end of the concert it was almost midnight….so they kinda paused the show….they put a live feel of times square on the big screens…and then they counted down to midnight with us…the boys all had giant Champaign bottles that were really confetti shooters!...that was a lot of fun…and all of their families came out on stage with them which was sweet!...when the clock struck 12 everyone yelled HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!...there was balloons and confetti and streamers flying all over the place…so much fun!!...i gave all my girls great big squeeeeezes!!!... I couldn’t have asked for a better way to ring in the new year…at my favorite concert with my favorite people!!...it was absolutely perfect…((okay so maybe a kiss at midnight would have made it better…but lets not talk about that!!...haha!!))
after the ball drop the concert resumed…there were only a few songs left…then Backstreets Back started…it is my favorite to watch live…there is just something about it that gets me so excited…its such a high energy song and the crowd always goes wild!!...i love it…the only bad part was I knew it was the last song and this amazing concert was coming to an end…boo!!...

after the show, the four of us started to head to our meeting spot…on our way we ran into some of our friends…of course we had to stop and chat with them…they had platinum vip so they were on stage during “if I knew then”…I told them they were superstars up there!!...then they were telling us all about it and how cool it was…I gotta admit im a little jealous!!...anyway then one of them said to little sis  “are you secretly dating aaron carter? You have so many pictures with him!!”…haha!!...we all laughed and she said no!...haha!!...i probably could have stood there and talked to them for another hour but the canadian was waiting for us so we left…

we finally made our way to the meeting spot…and proceeded to tell stories about all the old people sitting around us…haha!!...then it was time to go…I really hated saying goodbye to everyone… we had sooo much fun that weekend and saying goodbye meant that it was over…boo!!...but it had to be done…it was getting really late and we all had to hit the road…after some final squeezes all around we headed to our cars…
the drive home was quick and painless…much shorter than the drive home from atlantic city the night before…little sis fell asleep while the Canadian and I got lost in fantasy world for a while…that was fun!...haha!!...

aaaand that’s about it folks!!...i hope you had just as much fun reading about my nye adventures as I had participating in them (and then recapping them!!...haha!!)…if you missed them please be sure to check out part 1 and part 2!!

NYE Adventure (Part 2)

Oh my god! Im back again!!...haha!...i thought that opening was appropriate considering all the backstreet fun times im gonna talk about today!!!...eek!!...those boys always make me soo excited!!! =)
On Sunday morning we weren’t in too much of a rush because we didn’t have to be down to Atlantic City until about 4...so we did what we do best...we put on bsb videos...around the world was the first...haha!!!...over 12 years later and I still cant get over that crowd in brazil…it was INSANE!!...if you don’t know what im talking about you can probably look in up on youtube…im sure its there…

Next up was a viewing of big time summer tour!!...ive done a pretty good job at converting my backstreet girls into cougar rushers…such a good job that they invented the hashtag #BlameAsh anytime we do something crazy that’s big time rush related…haha!...so Kentucky girl is pretty much the last hold out…so we def tried our best all weekend to bring her over to the dark side…I mean…what dark side?!...haha!!...after seeing the concert on dvd I think we convinced her to go to a btr show this summer…yay!! ((AND a few weeks later she decided to start watching the show…I think shes almost done with season 2…and shes picked a fav…so we are getting there…it wont be long now before shes at cougar rusher status with the rest of us!!...haha!!))

After we watched the concert we all got ready and made sure to coordinate our outfits…then we hopped in the car and journeyed down to Atlantic City…when we got there we found the house of blues and got on line for vip…we saw little one…she was way in the front of the line with all of her friends…it looked like she was having fun...the four of us found the cruiser and got in the back of the line…and then there was a lot of waiting…show of hands…who’s surprised?!...no one…yeah, that’s what I thought!!...haha!!

We were finally let in to the soundcheck party…of course there was some more waiting…laura saw howie’s son james standing on the side so she said “guys james is here”…I was like “WHERE?!”…I thought she meant maslow…I was excited because hello, james maslow at a bsb concert? Who wouldn’t be excited?!...It would be like my two worlds colliding!!...haha!!…but then I looked over and saw little james…I felt dumb for my overreaction and a little disappointed that it wasnt maslow…I had to laugh at myself…haha!...but howie’s son (slash my birthday buddy) is so freaking adorable so its even better that it was him the cruiser was talking about =)

the boys finally came out on stage and they were looking good!...it was so exciting seeing them in person again…love it!!...they ended up singing 4 songs at soundcheck which is HUGE for them…they sang panic, pda, Siberia and more than that…so not only did we get 4 songs we got 2 super rare songs and 2 semi rare songs… they usually only do 2…sometimes 3 if youre lucky…they did four because they totally messed up pda (they needed to look up the words on google…haha!) so they felt bad…

It was question time next…I hate to compare bsb and btr but I cant help it…the question portion is one that they do so differently…bsb only answers 4 questions (1 each)…but if you are one of the lucky 4 you are handed a microphone so you can introduce yourself and pretty much say whatever you want…you really have their full attention…and then they usually take their time with the answer…with btr they answer tons of questions…but there is no mic involved…they kinda just point to you and you have to yell out your question…so you can really just ask your question and that’s it…honestly I cant decide which I like more…I wish I could merge the two options together…keep the mic and answer more questions…haha!!...for this particular q&a the best moment was when howie was answering his question…he was asked to describe what its like to be a backstreet boy in 10 words…he said he couldn’t do it and just started talking about it…then all of a sudden nick was like “youre STILL talking?!”…it was soo funny…oh and for nicks question he said that his mom called him a cream puff and thats why he didnt play football…aj talked about his wife and ava…and then brian blamed howie for their loss to the new kids at the mixtape softball game…

Then before we knew it, it was picture time…we were like the second group to go…josh was there to give his little speech about no hugs and stuff ((that’s something that btr def does better…hugs are always allowed…but I feel like I get slightly more time with bsb so it evens out)) I was first in our group to approach the boys…I love that they always look me directly in the eye when I shake their hands and say hello…when I got to howie I told him that I cried a little bit at mixtape when I thought that would be the last time he would ever get to sing kevs parts…he said aww that’s very nice of you to say…im so happy I actually had the courage to say that to him…wow!

After we got our picture taken we met up with video girl and went to get something to eat…just the normal chit chat going on…sharing stories and pictures and commentary and gossip…ya know, girl talk!...haha!!... Before we knew it, it was time to head back to the venue for the concert… on our way back to the venue we stopped at the bathroom…when we were in there I ran into one of my closest friends from high school…it was so good seeing her again…we haven’t hung out since we went to see nkotbsb together in june 2011…its been way too long!!...i was able to catch up with her for a little bit which was great!!...

So onto the concert…it was so so so good!!!...but really, did you expect me to say anything less??...haha!!...they opened with the version of incomplete from the cruise that I love…and they each did a solo…brian sang gone without goodbye and dedicated it to the kids in ct…I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house…the rest of the concert was high energy and the crowd was amazing…we were up on the balcony and there were some points that I thought the whole thing was going to collapse…it was kinda scary…but is it terrible that I thought “well, at least im gonna die at a backstreet boys concert”…haha!!...i just had so much fun…there is nothing better than being at a bsb concert…I was so excited that I was gonna get to go again the next night…

After the concert I drove back home with little sis and the Canadian…the other girls decided to stay and go to the after party…they got pics with howie…soo jealous!...i would have stayed but unfortunately I had to go to work Monday morning and it was already super late…ugh!...little sis fell asleep pretty quickly per usual…haha!...but the ride went quick because the Canadian and I chatted the whole way home…as soon as we got back home I took a quick shower…set the alarm…and went to sleep…I hated that I had to go to work in the morning…ugh!!...i mean I never want to go to work but it was worse because I was only gonna have less than 4 hours of sleep and my friends were all at my house…I didn’t want to leave them!!...boo!!

Well I think here is a good place to stop for now…ill be back soon with all the events of new year’s eve!!...it was an amazing one and I cant wait to tell you all the details!!...yay!!...oh and if you havent read part 1 yet make sure you check it out HERE!!!

NYE Adventure (Part 1)

I know that we are almost a whole quarter into 2013 but I still want to share with you my new year’s eve adventures with you!...better late than never!!...

I usually don’t make a big deal out of nye…most of the time I don’t make any plans and just pray that little one didn’t make plans either so I would have someone to hang out with…but this year was different…this year my backstreet boys announced that they would be having a concert that night in Bethlehem PA…ring in the new year with bsb?!...yes please!!...but it gets better…a lot of my friends who live all over the place also decided to go…so a one night concert turned into an entire weekend of fun times with my girls…oh AND a second concert the night before!!...a lot happened so I may turn this into a couple of entries…actually I will def turn it into a few entries…so, lets start at the beginning!!!

It all started on Friday December 28th…with the arrival of Kentucky girl from the Chicago area and the canadian from west coast Canada…(side note: I think its time my backstreet girls got cool blog names…so check out the updated cast of characters page!!)… we found out that the candian was stuck in Toronto…she didn’t know when her flight was gonna come in…Kentucky girl was originally gonna wait at the airport until she came in but since we didn’t know when that would actually be I contacted her to let her know we would come pick her up…so little sis and I hopped in the car and headed to the airport…it was so good seeing Kentucky girl again!!...the last time I saw her was back in june when we went to dc for the weekend…its been way too long and as soon as she got in the car we started chit chatting away…we made a couple of pit stops on the way back to my house and laughed the whole time!!...

i don’t remember what time it was when the canadian’s flight finally came in but when we got word that she was on the move we all hopped in the cadi again and headed back to the airport…I have to make a point of saying that she was wearing flipflops when we picked her up!…it was cold for here…I had on uggs!...but she was probably thinking it was a warm spring day!!...haha!...and all I could think about was that episode of boy meets world with the Eskimo sitting on the billboard singing “I am warm and you are cold!”…haha!!!...oh how i wish I had a gif of that!!...anyway…sorry for that tangent!...haha!!

After we all kinda settled in at my house we decided to exchange the collages we made for each other because there wasn’t going to be a time that we were all together …so I gave to Kentucky girl…Kentucky girl gave to little sis…little sis gave to the canadian…and the canadian officially made one for the cruiser but she also made one for me and little sis as a thank you gift for letting her stay at our house…it seemed like everyone was happy with what they got…and we all approached it in such different ways but they were all equally awesome!!…the calendar Kentucky girl made for little sis is AMAZING!!...and I absolutely love the collage the canadian made for me…lots and lots of great pics of kendall!!...we all know how I love me some kendizzle!!... ((video girl was assigned to me…we went out to dinner a few weeks later and she gave me the collages she made for me then…yeah that’s right she made me 2!!...one with handsome pictures and one with shirtless pictures…both ridiculously hott!!...she included pretty much ALL of my husbands…I mean favorites!!...haha!! LOVE!!!))
The only one im missing here is the one the cruiser made for video girl...
im sure i have a pic of it somewhere i just cant find it
We ended up staying up way too late…but that’s always the case when im with these girls…the Canadian and I spent at least an hour analyzing the vip pictures on my wall…I mean we covered everything about them from what everyone is wearing to how they are smiling to how they are standing…we really examined every little detail!...it was fun!...haha!!

The next day we had all kinds of activities planned…it ended up snowing/raining but we didn’t let ruin our fun…early in the afternoon we got ourselves ready and got on a train into the city…it was tihe canadian’s first train ride ever!!...how exciting…haha!!...we got off the train at penn station and headed over to 6th ave to get on the F to go up to Rockefeller center…you cant go into the city and not experience riding the subway…haha!...when we were walking over there the canadian was like “is it always like this?”…it wasn’t super crowded at that point so I said yeah…I don’t think she was a fan!...haha!... once we were at Rockefeller center we saw the tree…it wasnt as awesome as it could have been thanks to the rain…oh well…

Next we walked to the wax museum…we made a quick pit stop at mcdonalds then got in line to meet all the wax celebs!!...the four of us had so so so much fun there…we took a ton of pictures…we schmoozed with denzel and taylor lautner…danced with tina turner and Elton john…sang with the jobros and Jessica simpson…hung out with the beatles and my birthday buddy george…made an appearance on regis and Kelly…and beat up stupid justin timberlake not once but twice…oh and I cried when I won the gold medal…haha!...it was all fabulous!!!
Next on the agenda we met video girl for dinner and then the 5 of us headed over to see the fantasticks…it took us FOREVER to get from 42nd street to 50th street…I am never ever walking through times square during the holiday time again…it was waaay too crowded and a complete nightmare!!...i felt like I was being herded…I hate feeling like im being herded!!...it was just awful!!...

Anyway…the fantasticks…that play really is so funny…I laughed the whole time…I was almost to the point of tears I was laughing so hard…the actors kept looking at us during the show and laughing too…haha!!!...when the show was over we waited for mr aaron carter to come out so we could meet him and get pictures and all that good stuff…while we were waiting every single cast member who passed by us said thank you for being such a great audience!!...that was pretty cool…aaron eventually made his way over to us…he was just as nice as always…we all got pictures with him…little sis was last and thought he wasn’t going to take a pic with her…but then without any notice he picked her up for the picture…she was in shock…and im pretty sure she screamed when it happened…haha!...that pic came out super cute ((just like the other 15 thousand she has with him!...haha!!))
After the play we made our way back to the train station…said our goodbyes to video girl and then got on the train back to jerz…it was a really fun day…I was exhausted…when we got back to my house we told my mom all about out adventures for the day…she likes to hear all the details…its so funny how into our stories she gets!!

I think here is a good place to pause the story…theres lots of backstreet adventures coming up so stay tuned for those!!...ill be back soon…I promise!!...
