what's better than PLATINUM???

NOTHING!!!!!!

this past weekend i was in houston tx on another backstreet adventure!...you may be wondering why i would go all the way to houston...the answer to that is a simple one...the concert was on a saturday night so i didnt have to miss any work...and houston is pretty easy to get to from newark...

what made this concert more special than the rest of the ones ive been to is that little sis and i had platinum vip!!!...for those of you unfamiliar with what that consists of ill give you a quick overview before i get into all the juicy details...with out vip pass we got to go to soundcheck, have a q&a, take a picture with the boys, got a signed 8x10, we went on a backstage tour, and a photo and signature with the tour guide...pretty exciting stuff right?!...well it is to me!!!

so lets get into it shall we?...for the soundcheck part they took requests from the audience...little sis and i wanted them to sing "trouble is"...we knew they probably wouldnt be we tried anyway...they sang "drowning"...i really like drowning but they sing that during the concert...i would have rather heard a song they didnt sing...so little sis and i had to switch our game plan...for the most part they'll sing any single or siberia...and we heard siberia last time...so we had to pick a single that they dont sing..."more than that" was the perfect choice...we started yelling for more than that and a bunch of other people were yelling for "as long as you love me"...alaylm? really?...i mean come one you KNOW that they are going to sing that in the show...it would be such a waste...we knew that there was no way we could let alaylm win...so we started chanting more than that more than that...and we won!...haha! yay!!!...

next up was the question and answer segment...justin (their photographer) was running the show...he explained that we could ask one question per boy...he said "lets start with howie, who has a question for howie?"...uncharacteristically so my hand shot up, waved around and i said "pick me pick me!!"...so justin walked right over to me and handed me the mic! WHAAAAT?!?...this is where i would typically start to panic...nope not this time...the words came out no problem...i said "hiiii! im ashley and im from new jersey! we cam here to see you guys because we are super fans! *giggle* so my question isss in many a interview these guys have said that they call you trump jr, so i want to know if you would ever go on celebrity apprentice? and if so do you think you have a legitimate shot at winning?"...right away brian was like great question!...and nick and aj were like yeah you should do it you would be soo good and other stuff like that...so when they all stopped talking howie answered and he said that celebrity apprentice is actually one of his favorite shows he watches with his wife all the time...then he said yeah! if they asked him and he had the time he would def do it!!...it made me really happy that they all seemed to like my question...even if they didnt like it they still made me feel like they did...and thats all that matters!...i tried to come up with something that they havent heard before...and maybe this will plant the seed and one day we will see my little howito on my tv screen every week...

after that the other 3 were asked their questions...if you want to know what they were please ask and ill give you all the details!...but as far as im concerned they werent as good as mine!...haha!...im just kidding of course...

next up was picture time...barricades and no hugs...double boo!!!...but ya know what...a handshake is better than nothing...so ill take what i can get...i do have a slight problem with the barricades...my problem has nothing to do with wanting to be closer and everything to do with most of the pictures come out really bad...one person standing there like and idiot infront and the 4 of them trying their best to squish in...so as soon as i saw the barricade my wheels started turning...i refused to have a stupid picture...standing in the line i kept trying different things but i didnt really like any of them...then all of a sudden i was next...oh no! what was i going to do?!?...so i walked over to them and said hello to aj, then nick, then brian and when i got to my main squeeze he said that was a really great question!...eeek!...im pretty sure i said thank you...then it was really picture time...so i blurted out can you guys like reach out or something...like arms everywhere...(when i said this i was picturing 2005 she moves group picture in my head...haha!)...so they were like reach? like this?...and i was like yeah yeah yeah!...then i saw their arms out of the corner of my eye...so they did it...little sis says it looked really cool...but i havent seen the picture yet so fingers crossed it came out good!...

so right after the picture was taken howie continued to talk to me!!!...he asked me where in jersey im from and he said where his wife is from and asked me if i knew where is was...so i had an actual conversation with him...sure it was short but it was a conversation...which is a huge improvement from last time i had the opportunity to do so...remember this mishap?...haha!...

the whole thing could have been over at that moment and i would have totally been okay with it!!...but it wasnt over...we still had a backstage tour to get to...our tour guide was none other that the amazing mr nick carter!!!...he showed us all kinds of cool stuff about all the moving pieces of the tour right down to the signs they put on the walls so they dont get lost...when he was talking about the signs he said "these are very important because these places are huge and most of us are kinda stupid"...so i loudly said "oh stop it!"...i got a chuckle out of him (and a lot of the other girls too!...haha!)

when the tour was over everyone got to take a picture with nick...so gave everyone a chance to say whatever they wanted to him...it didnt seem like anyone was saying anything but i dont know maybe i just wasnt paying attention...i didnt really have anything planned to say but i didnt want to miss the opportunity...so when it was my turn i said to him "i just want to let you know that 'burnin up' is totally my summer anthem"...he said thanks...then we snapped the picture...and then i continued on and said "i mean really, how can you not fist pump at the jersey shore to it???"...he laughed and said thats so funny!!!...so yay! even though nick was sick i still got him to laugh twice!! (for those of you who havent heard the song... check it out here ...perfect fist pumping song...right?!?)

so overall i had such an awesome time!!!...the fact that i was able to form complete sentences while talking to the freaking backstreet boys is HUGE for me...i am so proud of myself...i mean if i can talk to them then i can talk to anyone!!! (clark kent here i come...haha!!!)

for those of you who took the time to read all this...thanks!...i hope you enjoyed the story of my latest backstreet adventure!!

ps ~ as soon as the pictures are posted on the website i will put mine and little sis' on here!

week 7

i know i know...you are all wondering "week 7? week 7 of what? and what happened to weeks 1 through 6?"...no worries...ill get to that...this is just the first week i have something to talk about...haha!...so lets quickly rewind back to the beginning...

it is currently week 7 of the "lose it all challenge" that im participating in...ive mentioned it briefly here but not really in too much detail...but the just of it is every week leading up to bsbcruise2011 there is a backstreet related challenge (in case you didnt know, lose is all is the title of a bsb song)...im competing against 3 other girls who will also be on the cruise...at the end whoever loses the highest percentage will win cruise merch!...i am super competitive and need to win...but aside from winning im so glad that i have those other girls there for me...its a great support system...so while we are competing against each other we are still helping each other...so really its a win win...also it works out perfectly that we each have a dif fav so its almost like im competing for howie...and i cant let my little howito down...so its even more incentive to win...haha!!!

okay so whats so special about week 7?....this weeks challenge is to learn some bsb choreo!!..eeeek!!!...thats right...its a dance challenge!!!...woot woot!...but there is a problem...how can i learn a new backstreet dance when i already know most of them?...so i gotta think outside the box...

actually i didnt know dont turn out the lights yet...but only because i knew about this challenge and i was saving it...so on Friday (our challenge weeks start on fridays) it took me all of 10 minutes maybe less to learn the chorus...so i feel like i cant count that as my challenge...so now comes the out of the box thinking...haha!

during this current tour they have a dance break at the end of the call...its to a completely different song which isnt theirs...but it is their dance...so i decided i should try to learn this...its way harder than i thought it would be...im not talking about the difficulty of the choreo...im talking about finding a decent video of it on you tube...most are from the back or are too far away or are too shaky to follow...so im trying the best i can but i cant learn what they are doing if i cant see what they are doing...you know...im having the same problem with a dance from the this is us tour i wanted to learn...so unfortunately i may have to scrap them...ugh...

but dont fret peeps!...i have more out of the box thinking up my sleeve...for recital 2005 my solo was to "incomplete"...over the years i forgot most of this dance...which is weird because i listen to this song way more than any of my other solo songs and yet i remember those...haha!...well anyway...i know that this is not their choreo but it is their song...so i decided to relearn this dance...there is one part that there is no way i can do now...im not even really sure how i did it then...haha...so ive been working on that all weekend and since it was pretty short the first time around i decided to add some on to it...i think its coming out pretty good...but we'll see...i hope the other girls like it and i dont look like a moron!...haha!!!

well thats all for now...ill be back soon!

NKOTBSB baby!!!

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

now that the screaming is out of the way lets get down to business...oh wait first i have to say *SPOILER ALERT!!!*...if you havent been to the show yet and you dont want to know what happens please STOP reading NOW!!!...im serious...i dont want to ruin anything for any one...but please come back after you've gone to the show...and everyone please feel free to share your thoughts below!!!

okay...so now lets really get down to business!!...haha!...the show was amazing!!!...ive gone to 3 so far and i obviously love my boys but each time i go i leave with more and more love for the new kids...they really are entertaining...and their songs are catchy!...

so lets start from the beginning...they have this video montage that could give you chills when you really think about the magnitude of all of this...and it builds all kinds of suspense for the boys and kids to appear on the stage...when that curtain drops and all nine of them are standing there together on a high rise platform the feeling in the arena is electric!...its exciting just thinking about it!!!...and then they go into a mash up of "single" by nkotb and "the one" by bsb and a sliver of "viva la vida" by coldplay added in for good measure...i LOVE this mash up!...i hope they record it or something cause i could listen to it over and over...

next the 2 groups went song for song, back and forth, with a bunch of up tempo hits...almost like a battle but not really...haha!...durring this section is where my boys show off their dance skills during the dance break for the call (which i think im going to try to learn next week!) and during bye bye love (they changed this dance from last year which initially made me sad but now i love the new one too!)...as for the new kids, this section introduced me to my new fav song of theirs....dirty dancing!...if you've never heard it i strongly suggest you look it up!!!!...

next they each did a block of a few ballads...new kids went first...the first time is saw the show it was a little tough to get through this part but of course i went home, did some studying and came back prepared the next time...haha!...anyways...backstreet boys' ballad section included show me the meaning, 10,000 promises, i'll never break your heart (fans were picked to go on stage for this one...i so wish i was one of those lucky girls!) drowning, and incomplete...this was all done while wearing white silky pajamas...i mean suits...haha!...

naturally mid tempo songs would come next...during the new kids section they sang the classic step by step...if you dont know that song then you must live under a rock!...haha!...they sang a whole bunch of others songs during this time donnie ripped his shirt off...(holy abs batman!...haha!) aanndd...they all jumped into the audience to sing "tonight"...

for bsb's mid tempo segment they started in the audience!!!...for one of my shows i was in the section they come down but on the other isle....so it was pretty impossible to see them...boo!...oh well...moving on...they sang a whole bunch of oldies but goodies...like qpg...alaylm...and aihtg...but for me the biggest surprise of the night was when they sang "if you stay"...this song isnt even on an album but they sang it during black and blue tour...they sound AMAZING during this one (well i always think they sound amazing but this one was extra amazing!...haha!)...

new kids were up next and they sang another ballad or 2...and then using the same fake out music they've been using for 6 years bsb came back and sung i want it that way...i think we all know how i feel about this song...haha!...

next came all the mushy gushy intros...what i like about this part is that they say something different every time!...and it gives everyone a chance to say something (well except for jon knight of course...who btw is totes my fave new kid...haha!)...

after the intros were done they all stayed on stage and performed "dont turn out the lights"...i love seeing all of them on the stage together and interacting with each other...its great!!!...

to end the show backstreet boys sang everybody (which i find to be waaayyy more exciting live than recorded)...new kids sang hanging tough...then they all sang a mash up of everybody and hanging tough...haha!...and then the show was over...awww...

some things to point out:

- all of the nkotb songs are a million times better live than recorded

- i was in second row for one of my shows...thats right second row!!...ahhhh!!! it was better than i could have ever imagined...we were sooo close to all of them

-my boys are still the best...the sound great...the look great...they dance great...they are just great!...haha!

-I WON SILVER VIP!!!! that was for monday's show...wow!!!...i cant stop looking at the picture...
- little sis and i have platinum vip for when we go to houston next weekend so expect a full review of that experience

- everyone should try to go to this concert...it really was a show ill never forget!!!!

deep breath...calm down...okay...i think im alright okay fine now...there is no way im gonna make my train so i just have to except that and move on...*sigh*

hmm...so what else has been going on...oh so randomly one day a few months ago i stumbled upon a fan fiction website...i havent read fan fics in years...but i was bored and figured hey why not...and now i am hooked...everyone needs to go to my-confession.net and read karah's stories!...they are so good!!!...her current story "back to December" is amazing...its the sequel to "the story of us"...so obviously you should read that one first...even if you arent a backstreet fan you should still go check them out...i promise you wont be disappointed...they are entertaining for anyone... =)

yeah so thats about it...if anyone has anything specific you want my to talk about i will gladly do so...also feel free to ask me anything...i will def provide you with an answer!...

well, until next time...happy blogging!

*update*: i def would have missed the train...but njtransit was late too...so for once that worked out in my favor!...haha! ; )
